a typical sunday at rocky point with one of our best buds lupo.

lupo has lived at rocky point with his pet joe for years, until joe recently took a job as a marine observer, requiring him to spend weeks at a time out at sea... ultimately, the situation required joe to find a new home for lupo. lupo now lives with several other hounds on a beautiful plot on the hill over looking waimea bay. we have begun the tradition of bringing him back to his shoreline roots on sundays.

below is a sweet vid from this past sunday, featuring lupo and one of my roommates marykate, and a pic of joe and lupo's previous bird house residence at rocky point, designed by the architect doug ackerman. all smiles :)

I'm still tripping over this... my first shape. It consumes my thoughts. 6 hours of straight labor. Thank you Rick for allowing me your space and resources.

'We want Melvin!'

speaking of riding dirty, local southside news this weekend has been about the machete attacks happening in the neighborhood. the post summed it up with their sunday headline: MACHETE MANIA HACKS 2 MEN IN WILLIAMSBURG. the daily news beat them on the story by a few hours and reported a few more details:
About 15 suspected gang members, wearing T-shirts over their faces, stormed down S. Third St. in Williamsburg around 2 a.m. brandishing 18-inch blades and yelling for their intended target to show himself, witnesses said.

"People were screaming; they were saying, 'We want Melvin!'" said one witness too afraid to give his name.

gothamist lists all the recent stabbings on the southside in their article.

/// these gang members must be huge danny trejo fans:

/// not an actual photograph of s. 3rd street, but speed demons suggestion of what it must have looked like:

for real, don't be asking anyone if their good, be alert and whatever you do, stay the hell away from melvin.

In Your Prayers

Keep in mind Captain Zero, Allan Weisbecker - author of Cosmic Banditos & In Search of Captain Zero. Allan is a good braddah from out east and is having some major health issues. As reported on today:

OPEN LETTER: John here, Allan's friend and web guy. Many of you may be wondering why Allan has not responded to inquiries and feedback related to his last DSP about his return to Costa Rica. The fact is, Allan is seriously ill and has not been able to check email.Friends have asked that I keep the details of his illness private for now, so I'm going to respect their wishes and say only the following: He is seeking treatment and his condition is treatable (as in curable) if things go well in the next few days; though, as I write this, he is fighting for his life.I have set up a message board/guestbook for those of you who would like to show your love and support for Allan. Please take a moment to sign it and send some positive thoughts his way. Your support has always been extremely important to him... now more than ever. The message board is at
