cm wallwatcher is on a jobsite near you he and wants to set the record straight - construction graffiti is alive and well. "don't eat the ironworker's mints" with an arrow pointing to the urinal cake - that's the classic that my pops always refers to. well cm wallwatcher has some wave sliders on the job - see the creativity below. it's not a union holiday, but six foot / twelve seconds - it might as well be. i'm no union guy, but i'll see use in da lineup - scabs need not apply -

cm wallwatcher's blog updated on the daily: construction graffiti

yo- i told shep to throw this one up yesterday. his boys chris and z took the address. i ran into chris and z again today and they told me they hit the spot up. i went there immediately after and bam! I shredded rain spot for 30 minutes and then met two sexy ladies with full sleeves for dinner.

chalk bomb

autumn official

fall arrived this weekend: crisp sunny days, dark by 6:30, leaves changing colors, Sarah Palin in fleece. My man KOPE let me know that our friends over at Miller High Life also go into the spirit and released their fall series camo cans. Although i haven't scene them yet, i'll be on the lookout at American Beer distributor and ABC...

These camo cans blend right into the natural urban landscapes of south slope back yards, cg stoops and northside lofts, prime hunting grounds for high life aficionados.

'they murphed it!'

In the summer of 1993, the Wu-Tang Clan emerged from the
slums of Staten Island and took the hip-hop world by storm. Their legacy spanned over a decade, selling more than twenty million albums.

Their talents brought them success and their music made them legends.

the vid below is taken at rick's shop - i clearly had too much coffee that day ///

le damagggggggge

yeah - solarrrrezzz. full on life saver when you're a ten hours motor from the nearest third world fishing dock, but when you get back to brooklyn (surf capital of the n. hemisphere) nothing spells f-u-n like a ding repair seshie on your fire escape. this particular pest was the result of a kick-off / heel stomp through the deck of my board (that i'm still not hearing the end of). to add insult to injury ewwww pun, i was laid up for a day and a half on the s.s. marcus due to a rolled f&#@$ ankle... there is only so much moleskining / chess / bintang that one can rip through before he loses his mind ///

enter duct tape :) luckily there were some skilled aussie footie players on board to remedy the injury. thunderdome splint job and ankle roll no mo. right on lombo !

fabricating the modern dwelling

calling all y'all helvetica headz - moma is currently running the 'home delivery' show through october 20th. you knew that like 2 years ago, mmm hmm. 5 pre-fabricated homes were constructed in the empty lot next the the museum on 54th street and each is truly unique.

check out kaufmann|rüf architects' system 3 house time lapse - speed demons. if only all construction were this easy there'd def be more time to surf.

hanna kung fu and calisthenics

still recovering from the marathon seshie yesterday w. the brooklyn squadron. we set sail before daybreak with our sights on some northern nj spots. conditions were favorable, but the crowd factor was already peaking at 7:00am with bike rack after bike rack jammed with stickered up bro-peds. after a quick survey of the monmouth region it was unanimous that we should surf uncrowded beachies to ourselves.

jb was rad enough to snap some shots of the crew in between sessions. here are some of the highlights -

the blue room

above // taken approx 40' inside the non-descript cave opening on the north side of mokalua island, a 3/4 mile snorkel off of lanikai beach, oahu.

to explore it safely, conditions need to be feelin rasta | i.e. low tide + calm waters + adventurous spirits

this sunday, the stars were right, and we were able to liven up ourselves / let our souls glooow all afternoon.

you begin at a rabbit hole of sorts, a space just high enough to swim through and breathe occasionally without hitting your head. then you drift in with the help of the incoming tide, holding onto the mossy rock faces to stay centered. just as the crevice opens a bit wider, you feel the sand meet your feet and begin the jive atop the sandy beach. peering forward, it's squinty black and uneventful. then, about 15' farther you reach the dry beach, with just enough space for 6 to assume the lotus. looking back, you realize why it was you came. the cave scatters the incoming light over the water, illuminating the space with a deep glow of swirly iridescent blue.
